In March 2008, Habitat for Humanity of Collier County celebrated its 30th anniversary of building homes in partnership with hard-working families in need in Collier County. Over the last 30 years many thousands of volunteers and donors have contributed to the great works of this affiliate enabling us to build simple, decent homes with 1,100 families. The need for affordable housing in Collier County is still tremendous with more families every year coming to apply, each of them with heart-wrenching stories of inadequate housing. Just 10 years ago the cost of a Habitat home including land was $50,000. Today, because of the high cost of land development and construction, building a Habitat home costs $125,000.  Therefore, to do more we must raise more money. For those of you who have been faithful partners over the years, we need your continued support, and if possible we humbly ask you to consider increasing your support. In addition, we ask each and every one of you to invite a friend to join our mission so they can find their place in the work of Habitat. Together we CAN make substandard housing politically, socially and religiously unacceptable.
